Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before booking with Sabar Airlines. By purchasing a ticket or using our services, you agree to be bound by the following conditions.

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Sabar Airlines ("we", "us", "our") and any person ("passenger", "you") who purchases a ticket, uses our services, or travels on any flight operated by Sabar Airlines.

By completing a booking, purchasing a ticket, or checking in for any Sabar Airlines flight, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. These terms apply to all passengers regardless of booking channel — whether booked directly through our website, our office, or through a third-party travel agent.

These Terms and Conditions should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Baggage Guidelines, and Dangerous Goods Policy, all of which form part of your contract of carriage with Sabar Airlines.

Bookings & Tickets

A booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received and a ticket has been issued. Until that point, Sabar Airlines reserves the right to release any reserved seat without notice.

Ticket Validity

  • All tickets issued by Sabar Airlines are valid for a maximum of 3 months from the date of issue. Travel must be completed within this window.
  • Tickets that have not been used within their validity period will expire and carry no residual value. No refund or credit will be offered for expired tickets.
  • Tickets are issued in the name of a specific passenger and are strictly personal. They may not be used by any person other than the named ticketholder.

Accuracy of Passenger Information

It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that all details provided at the time of booking — including full name, passport number, date of birth, and contact information — are accurate and match their travel documents exactly. Sabar Airlines is not responsible for denied boarding arising from discrepancies between ticket information and identity documents.

Fares and Payment

  • All fares are quoted in USD unless otherwise stated and are subject to applicable taxes and charges.
  • Fares are not guaranteed until full payment is received and the ticket is issued.
  • Sabar Airlines reserves the right to correct any pricing errors prior to ticket issuance.

Note: Sabar Airlines strongly recommends that passengers obtain appropriate travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances including medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and loss of baggage.

Cancellation Policy

Sabar Airlines operates a strict non-refundable ticketing policy. Passengers are advised to review this section carefully before completing any purchase.

Non-Refundable Tickets

All tickets issued by Sabar Airlines are non-refundable. Once a ticket has been purchased and issued, no refund will be provided under any circumstances. This applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including but not limited to:

  • Personal illness or medical emergency
  • Change of travel plans
  • Visa refusal or travel document issues
  • Natural disasters or force majeure events outside of Sabar Airlines' control
  • Death of a passenger or immediate family member

Non-Transferable Tickets

All tickets are strictly non-transferable. A ticket may only be used by the passenger named on it. Any attempt to use a ticket issued in another person's name will result in the ticket being void and the passenger being denied boarding with no refund issued.

Important: Tickets once issued are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. No exceptions will be made. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance before booking.

Amendments

While tickets cannot be refunded or transferred, passengers may request a change of travel date subject to the following conditions.

Date Change Fee

A flat amendment fee of USD $50 applies to every date change request. This fee is non-refundable and must be paid in full at the time the amendment is processed. The change will not be confirmed until payment is received.

Advance Notice Requirement

All amendment requests must be submitted at least 12 hours before the original scheduled departure time. Requests made within 12 hours of departure will not be accepted under any circumstances, and the passenger will be treated as a no-show.

Ticket Validity After Amendment

Any amended travel date must still fall within the 3-month validity window from the original date of ticket issue. Amendments cannot extend the ticket beyond this period. Requests to travel after the ticket validity date will not be accepted.

Seat Availability

Date amendments are subject to seat availability on the requested new date. Sabar Airlines cannot guarantee that your preferred date will be available. If the requested date is fully booked, the passenger may choose an alternative available date or forfeit the ticket — no refund will be issued.

How to request an amendment: Contact our reservations team at info@sabarairlines.com or visit our office at Hadhwanaag Mall, Hargeisa, with your booking reference and preferred new travel date.

No-Shows

A passenger is classified as a no-show if they fail to present themselves at the departure gate by the boarding deadline on their scheduled date of travel, without having submitted a valid amendment request at least 12 hours in advance.

No-Show Policy

  • No-show tickets are non-refundable. The full value of the fare is forfeited.
  • No-show tickets cannot be reinstated, exchanged, or used for future travel under any circumstances.
  • A passenger who misses their flight due to late arrival at the airport, failure to complete check-in, or any other reason within their control will be treated as a no-show.

Important: NO-SHOWS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Once a no-show is recorded, the ticket is immediately void. No partial credit, voucher, or exchange will be offered.

Passengers are strongly advised to arrive at the airport with sufficient time to complete check-in and security screening before the published boarding deadline.

Baggage

Passengers are permitted to carry baggage subject to the allowances and conditions set out in our Baggage Guidelines. The following general rules apply to all passengers.

Cabin Baggage

  • Economy passengers may carry one cabin bag not exceeding 7 kg, with maximum dimensions of 55 × 38 × 20 cm.
  • Business class passengers may carry two cabin bags, each not exceeding 7 kg within the same size limits.
  • Bags that do not fit within the overhead compartment or under the seat will be checked into the hold at the gate and may incur a fee.

Checked Baggage

  • Economy passengers are permitted one piece of checked baggage not exceeding 23 kg and 158 cm in total dimensions (L+W+H).
  • Business class passengers are permitted two pieces, each not exceeding 32 kg and 158 cm total.
  • A single bag may not exceed 32 kg regardless of class or purchased allowance, for safety reasons.

Excess and Oversized Baggage

Baggage exceeding the applicable allowance will be subject to excess baggage fees calculated per kilogram at check-in. Oversized items exceeding 158 cm total dimensions must be pre-declared and may incur additional handling charges. Pre-purchasing additional allowance online is available at a lower rate than at the airport.

Liability for Baggage

Sabar Airlines accepts limited liability for loss, damage, or delay of checked baggage in accordance with applicable aviation regulations. Valuable items including cash, electronics, jewellery, and important documents should always be carried in cabin baggage. Sabar Airlines is not liable for damage to items inadequately packed or inherently fragile.

For full details on baggage allowances, restricted items, and special baggage, please refer to our Baggage Guidelines available on our website.

Check-In & Boarding

Passengers are responsible for arriving at the airport with sufficient time to complete check-in, security screening, and boarding before the published deadlines.

Check-In Deadlines

  • Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure for all domestic flights.
  • Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure for international flights.
  • Passengers who fail to complete check-in before the applicable deadline may be denied boarding. No refund will be issued in such cases.

Boarding

  • Boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure. Passengers not at the gate by this time will be denied boarding.
  • Valid photo identification matching the name on the ticket is required for all passengers. Acceptable documents include a passport or national identity card.
  • Sabar Airlines reserves the right to deny boarding to any passenger who appears unfit to travel, poses a safety risk, or fails to comply with check-in requirements.

Travel Documents

It is the sole responsibility of each passenger to hold valid travel documents including passports, visas, and health certificates required for their destination and any countries of transit. Sabar Airlines is not responsible for passengers being denied entry or transit at any destination due to inadequate documentation.

Dangerous Goods

In accordance with ICAO and IATA regulations, certain items are strictly prohibited on all Sabar Airlines flights. Passengers are responsible for ensuring their baggage does not contain any prohibited dangerous goods.

Prohibited Items

The following items are not permitted in the cabin or hold under any circumstances:

  • Fireworks, explosives, and sparklers
  • Flammable liquids, fuel paste, and gasoline
  • Compressed gas canisters including camping gas and soda cartridges
  • Poisons, infectious substances, and household chemicals
  • Radioactive materials
  • Paint and paint thinner
  • Mace and pepper spray
  • Alcohol exceeding 70% ABV
  • Bags with alarm or timing devices
  • Strong magnets and wet cell batteries
  • Cigarette lighters in any checked bag

Restricted Items

Some items are permitted only in a specific location — cabin or hold — and may not be carried in the other. Lithium batteries, power banks, and e-cigarettes must travel in the cabin. Sharp items and aerosols must be packed in checked baggage. One cigarette lighter may be carried on your person only.

Warning: Passengers found carrying prohibited dangerous goods will be denied boarding, have the items confiscated, and may face prosecution under applicable law. The full fare will be forfeited with no refund.

Passenger Conduct

All passengers are expected to behave in a manner that is respectful, safe, and compliant with the instructions of Sabar Airlines staff at all times — both on the ground and in the air.

Disruptive Behaviour

Sabar Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage to, or remove from a flight, any passenger who:

  • Is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Behaves in a threatening, abusive, or violent manner toward other passengers or crew
  • Refuses to comply with the instructions of crew members or airport staff
  • Poses a safety or security risk to the aircraft or those on board
  • Attempts to tamper with aircraft systems or safety equipment

In such cases, no refund will be issued for the unused portion of the ticket, and the passenger may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Smoking

Smoking — including the use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices — is strictly prohibited on all Sabar Airlines flights and in all airport areas where smoking is not expressly permitted. Passengers who violate this rule may be removed from the aircraft and reported to law enforcement.

Note: The captain of the aircraft has final authority over all matters relating to passenger safety and conduct on board. Their decisions are binding and not subject to appeal during the flight.

Liability

Sabar Airlines' liability to passengers is limited in accordance with applicable international aviation conventions and national law. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, passengers acknowledge the following limitations.

Flight Delays and Cancellations

Sabar Airlines will make every reasonable effort to operate flights on time. However, we are not liable for delays, cancellations, or diversions caused by factors outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, air traffic control restrictions, technical issues, or force majeure events. In the event of a disruption within our control, we will endeavour to reroute or rebook affected passengers where operationally possible.

Baggage Claims

Claims for lost, damaged, or delayed baggage must be submitted in writing to Sabar Airlines within 7 days of the affected flight. Claims submitted after this period may not be accepted. Sabar Airlines' maximum liability for baggage is limited in accordance with applicable aviation regulations and does not cover valuables or items inadequately packed.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sabar Airlines shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our services, including loss of business, missed connections, or costs incurred as a result of flight disruption.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits Sabar Airlines' liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Somaliland. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Somaliland.

Where applicable, international conventions governing air carriage — including the Montreal Convention and the Warsaw Convention — shall apply and take precedence over these terms in the event of any conflict.

Sabar Airlines reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to your travel. Passengers are encouraged to review these terms prior to each booking.
